According to the Children’s Music Workshop, the effect of music education on language development can be seen in the brain. “Recent studies have clearly indicated that musical training physically develops the part of the left side of the brain known to be involved with processing language, and can actually wire the brain’s circuits in specific ways. Linking familiar songs to new information can also help imprint information on young minds.”
We believe that giving students the opportunity to study and experience music in a broad range of ways improves academic achievement, emotional well-being, and an appreciate of diverse cultures.
We are currently raising funds to bring music education to our partner communities in Cambodia. Support our work by:
- Donating music equipment or funds
- Sponsoring a teacher to lead the music education program at the Toul Roka Village School
- Supporting an annual music festival in Toul Roka

Blue Skies Development is proud to partner with local Seattle musicians in the Songs for Solutions tour and EP release. Proceeds will establish a music and arts program at the Toul Roka School.
“The Songs for Solutions project is a special opportunity. It’s a great feeling to make a positive contribution to arts education through my music and performances. Music and the arts are a fundamental element of childhood education.”
